some quick movie reviews
I Am Legend:
Crap. Nice first act, but a squandered premise that wraps itself up far too easily. I was scared a couple of times, but i was never surprised.
Aliens (on HBO this evening)
“There’s one, get it!” A lot of movie crammed into a fairly short amount of time, but about as sophisticated as a roadside carnival.
Chronicles of Narnia (also on cable this evening):
Should just be called “Tilda Swinton and some other shit.”
Michael Clayton
Fucking great. George Clooney can act. So can, coincidentally, Tilda Swinton.
Bourne Identity:
Best of the three, nearly a perfect film, were it not for the ridiculous over-acting going on at CIA headquarters. You get the feeling that by the time they got around to doing Bourne Ultimatum, the script was just a spreadsheet into which they fed actors names.
